Adorkable

Yesterday I posted about the Urban Dictionary and my new favorite word adorkable so I thought it only appropriate that I have a future ex-husband posting featuring an adorkable man. One of these men is David Sedaris. Granted not the sexiest of men, but damn that man can make me laugh. If you haven't read Me Talk Pretty One Day then you need to because I think that was his finest collection of essays. Another upside is that he is so neurotic that he would make me seem normal!

I liked Barrel Fever better. But the story in "Me Talk Pretty", when he talks about being in the French class, made me pee my pants.

If you ever get the chance, go to one of his readings. In person, he's just as adorkable as you would guess.

Yes I must agree that I too find David Sedaris adorkable. Hope it's ok, I used your term adorkable at work today. And no I didn't give you credit. sorry.

D. and I have been to see him live. Enjoyable, but not repeatable.

I know exactly which story you are talking about. . .Jesus Shaves. I love the part where he goes "The rabbit of Easter, he brings of the chocolate."

If you can get your hands on the audio cd I suggest it because it is ten times funnier listening to him read it.

Is "bigfuckingripoff" in the urban dictionary? Because that's how I felt about the live thing we went to. Remember when authors signed books at bookstores for free?!

Jesus Shaves was us in Montreal, trying to use our pidgen french on the cabdriver the morning we went to Les Jardins Botaniques - only to find out later that the metro went directly to it, and for $1.50 canadian, which was practically free when you took into account the exchange rate.
