Cafe Conversations
I can't believe I almost let Wednesday go by without sharing a Cafe Conversation! This one I had the pleasure of overhearing at the local coffee shop.
The scene: A local dive coffee shop with two young female baristas behind the counter. Enter two young Russian guys in their uniform of track suit and over priced tennis shoes.
Barista girl: What can I get you guys?
Russian guy: What is your name?
Barista girl: Huh?
Russian guy: What is your name?
Barista girl: Miranda (not her actual name)
Russian guy: I'll take two Miranda's to go.
Barista girl: (rolls eyes) Never use that line again.
Russian guy: What? (asks all innocently) Is not good?
Barista girl: No, is no good.
Dang, as if it isn't bad enough being harrassed by normal customers at least I'm not a girl fending off horrid pick up lines!

VERY VERY funny! And, yes.....horrible line...
Thought of you this morning, Vinnie. Mr. C4U took me to Starbucks for coffee. After reaching the counter, with a line stretching behind us, he says, "Hmm...what do I want? I don't know....let's see...." I quickly informed him to pick a damned coffee, people were waiting and um, that's what line-time is for. ;)
LOL. . .see, I am providing a public service!
I dunno. I give two points to the Russian guy for trying. People's social interactions are getting down to bare minimum, as your previous cellphone stories will attest to. The barista should take it as a compliment. I'd rather have someone throw me a stupid pick up line than be mean or rude.
