Harry Potter Grows Up

Check out this article about Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe and his new role. I have a few questions though. He is 17 and appearing nude on stage. Does that violate some sort of law or something. I know the play is in the U.K., are their laws a little bit different? Also, would you let your 17 year old kid appear in a play where he is A)nude and B) in "love" with a horse? Granted it may appear in a school syllabus like he is quoted as saying but there is a huge difference between reading about it and acting in it. I dunno, I just have to think "not such a smart move there Harry."

It's art! Not porn! Besides, Daniel Radcliffe got pretty hot - I'm all for letting him make art!

I saw those pics on Towleroad last night, and felt very dirty. I only wish he were 18 so I could say what I was thinking/feeling. He is a hobbit, after all.

He will actually turn 18 before the show opens. He's only off limits durring rehearsals. Actually, I think the legal age of consent is only 16 in London. Anyway, it's a brilliant play!

Not only are their laws different, their attitudes are too!

He's only naked - not killing or maiming anyone - no wonder you guys have such a weird reputation in the world. and btw 16 is the age of concent for SEX not being naked. Anyone can be naked!

There is much more to it than just appearing naked. . .it also has to do with the subject matter of the play and he isn't just hanging out nude at a beach or a club. . .he is exhibiting himself for the titillation of others. Big difference there especially when combined with the subject matter.

I thought I'd say that not anyone can be naked, at least not in public anyway. There's a real downside to that, but still, men can go around topless, so I'm happy.
