I Love. . .

. . .to eat. Especially since I quit smoking and can actually taste my food now. The problem is finding good restaurants. I hate to eat at national chain restaurants. I much prefer the Mom and Pop's or the independently owned restaurants. The food just seems so much better at those types of places. The whole problem is finding the gems among the clutter. Ever since D. defected to California my main source of good recommendations is gone (it was thanks to her that I discovered the joy of Vietnamese food and #1 Pho).
I did just join friendsEAT to find some great new gems not just here but also down in Columbus. It is sort of like a myspace but for people who love food. I'm hoping some more Ohioans will join so I can glean their minds for some good Columbus restaurants.

Whole World is pretty good vegetarian. It's in Clintonville right on High St. There's an upscale vegan place in Vic Ville called Dragonfly. I had some risotto there that was to die for. But it is pricey.
This is in Cleveland, but Udupi Cafe in parma is a great south indian / vegetarian restaurant. The decor and atmosphere are not very polished... but the food is really good and also inexpensive. The chana batura is awesome.
Another good restaurant with some vegetarian choices is Aladin's. I think there may actually be one or 2 in Cleveland.
And a good choice for some 'authentic' Mexican in Columbus would be any of the El Vacquero's. I've also heard Casa Fiesta on 161 near I-71 is very good.
I'm tickled PINK that you quit smoking!!! How long's it been? Not only does food taste better, but you SMELL better too!! Congrats to you Vinnie!!
You can look forward to many more years on your bicycle without having to figure out how to strap on the oxygen tank and keep the hose out of the spokes!!
IF you like #1 Pho, have you gone next door to the even better (IMO) Superior Pho (Formerly known as Pho Hoa)??? It is the BEST!

My favorite is their Summer Rolls with the spicy peanut sauce. Plus,. nd their food is cheaper, too!
