Gas Boycott

One of my employees was telling me about a gas boycott he heard about scheduled for May 15h after listening to me bitch again about gas prices (I mean c'mon, up fifty cents over night?) I did a little bit of research (okay, I googled it once and read two articles) and it turns out these are mostly urban legends that don't work. What I want to know, and I know someone out there has a great answer, is how do we all show our displeasure at the oil companies ripping us off left and right and our govt. not giving two craps that they are doing it? I have already cut down unnecessary driving and now that it is warm again I have no problem with riding my bike to the video store or on small errands. Unfortunately Cleveland's (m)ass transit sucks so that isn't an option. I have considered only driving half way into work, finding someplace to park, then biking the rest of the way in but I'm not sure if that is an option either.

I feel your pain about gas prices. I'm driving a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer. Luckily, I don't have a far commute.
I wish there were some way of showing the oil refineries that we don't appreciate their greedy tactics.
We show our displeasure by voting every last oilman and oil connected politician OUT OF OFFICE FOR GOOD!
I agree with the May 15th boycott. It's useless.
You're on the path to how we really stick it to them. We use less gas on an ongoing basis, not just for one day. Walk or bike for short errands. I'll be riding my scooter more (in fact, now that Pokey has a helmet, we're planning on scootering together someplace for dinner tonight). If you have real mass transit available (unlike the COTA joke we have in Columbus, use it). Don't buy frigging army tanks (read: Hummers) for urban/suburban status driving. And by all means support candidates who believe that the way out of this mess is new research into alternative fuel technologies, and NOT by allowing Big Oil to destroy our environment by drilling on every square inch of pristine wilderness.
Do you get the idea you're really hit a nerve with me?
