The Weekend

Ah, I do love my rare weekend off every now and again. Take this weekend for instance. I had decided to take this weekend off for a little mild birthday celebration (it was Friday). Of course I did have to go into work for four hours on Saturday morning and now I get to go into work for five hours tonight. Wow! I am so lucky aren't I?
Not all is lost though. I have a fantastic boyfriend who knows me all to well. He actually got me a Garmin so now I know how to get places. Even better now I will be able to get home from places so now I don't have to worry about exploring the city anymore and getting twisted and turned around. Awesome!
I also got a great surprise from across the country. D. sent me a card and a special present all the way from CA. She knows all about my Buddha collection/ obsession and sent me the coolest Buddha pencil toppers that she picked up in Chinatown (isn't that sort of sacrilegious for them? You don't see churches selling Jesus pencil toppers. . .yet). Those made me laugh out loud.

I think it might be sacriligious if they were erasers and his head gradually disappeared.
And, Belated Happy Birthday!
I actually found these at some chic chic little store in San Francisco, near a coffee shop w/a line out the door. Believe me, the coffee was worth feeling ripped off over. But anyway, this little store was full of all kinds of goods of questionable taste and origin, these pencil toppers being my favorite. They're wrong on so many levels.
