I finally finished the infusing of the strawberry basil vodka and it didn't turn out quite as I had anticipated. I definitely used WAY too much basil for too long. Don't get me wrong, the vodka isn't bad at all just not what I had wanted. I wanted a delicate, sweet vodka with just a hint of basil spiciness. What I got was a spicy, peppery vodka with just a hint of strawberry sweetness. Not a bad flavor just not what I had intended. The next time I try this I will just infuse the strawberry flavor into the vodka then add basil leaves to it when serving it. That should keep the sweet strawberry flavor and have the slight spiciness that I want from the basil.
