Vinnie, it is such a tough call. But I do believe that when you leave it to A PERSON (or persons) to determine what is acceptable speech and what isn't, then it becomes a slippery slope.

I hated the ACLU for years, because they defended whackjobs. After the Patriot Act, I realized what they were doing not only protected the whackjobs, but me as well. I've been a card carrying member ever since.

Canada, like America has Freedom of Speech laws, but we also have hate laws that would prevent such a disgusting episode to occur. Freedom of Speech should never trump Hate. Here at home, it doesn't.

I think perhaps a better solution is for the cemetery or funeral home operators to enforce their private property boundaries and call the police on trespassers. I also like the motorcycle guys who drive their Harleys in front of these fundamentalist wack jobs and drown out their protests with engine noise. Though that's probably not a great sound at a funeral either.
